PRESCHOOL
Parent/Child (Shrimp) (ages 6 - 17 months) Helps
promote water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities
for children and their parent or other trusted adult. Swimming
skills include; basic water safety, increased self esteem
and lots of fun. Class uses songs and games to encourage children
to learn new water skills.
Parent/Child (Perch) (ages 18 - 36 months) Class is designed for children that can stand and jump. Helps promote water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for children and their partner or other trusted adult. Swimming
skills include; basic water safety, kicking, blowing bubbles, jumping and arm action. This class also uses songs and games to encourage children to learn new water skills.
Preschool I (Pike) (ages 3-5) Designed to help swimmers feel more
comfortable and confident in and around the water. Emphasizes water
safety, kicking, submerged bubble blowing and floating with and without
assistance.
Preschool II (Eel) (ages 3-5) Designed for children who can independently
place their faces in the water. Emphasis will be on water safety,
freestyle, backstroke and water comfort.
Preschool II (Ray ) (ages 3-5) Designed for swimmers who are comfortable
and confident in the water. Swimmers will practice streamlines,
front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke and safety skills.
Preschool III (Starfish) (ages 3-5) Designed for swimmers who can successfully swim freestyle and backstroke the width of the pool. Swimmers will learn the kicks for breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers will also work on endurance to be able to swim the length of the pool on their own. |
