ROBOTICS PROGRAM (NEW!)
Our newest program for teens will teach youth to design, build, and operate robots in a variety of challenges. Our robot kits will allow teens to experiment with different types and designs in an attempt to solve several challenges, including head-to-head competitions and obstacle courses. This program is a great way to increase knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (S.T.E.M.), which is becoming more and more necessary for young adults entering college and the workforce.
Plus, you get to build robots!

Youth Running Club
This program is perfect for the running enthusiast or the person who just wants to move! Participants will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm where individuals will perform conditioning skills such as knee highs, heel kicks, ladders, etc. Runners will participate in non-competitive relays, as well as perform distant races. Participants will meet on the Track in the fitness center the first week of each session; location will vary from week-to-week (schedule will be provided). Participants will be provided with a light snack following their workout, please provide bottled water. Sign-up quickly as spacing is limited.

Be part of one of the fastest growing sports in the world! Participants will learn the fundamentals of water polo from experienced YMCA coaches. Practices will focus on team dynamics, ball handling skills, and swimming and treading endurance, while incorporating the YMCA core values. For ages 8-15.
Prerequisites: Have passed the Flying Fish class Or (1) Tread for at least 2 minutes unaided using one or a variety of kicks. (No flutter kick) (2) Proficiently swim a 200 yard freestyle swim. (3) Proficiently swim a 200 yard backstroke
Proficient demonstration of all skills is determined by the ranking coach on the first Saturday of every month.
(3 month commitment required, fees can be drafted from a bank account or credit card)
Instructor, Mark Ramirez will teach traditional martial arts, a class for learning self-defense in a fun and safe environment. The classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on a monthly basis, in the Heritage Room.

Time/Age: Children Class: 5-8 years at 6-6:30 pm
Adult Class: 9 years and up at 6:30-8 pm

Calling all health-seekers! Swim, bike, or run your way into a new and amazing “you” this holiday season. Have you ever wanted to swim the English Channel, cycle the Tour de France, or run the world’s longest road race? Well, this year’s 12-Weeks of Fitness gives you the chance to do just that. Sign up as a swimmer, cyclist, or runner and exercise (in the YMCA) the equivalent of various races that you may only see on T.V.
At the end of your race you will join us for a victory celebration where you will receive fun raffle prizes, great food, and be able to mingle with all of your new friends.

The Adventure Guides Program is designed to provide you and your child with one-on-one quality time, and time spent with other parent-child pairs. While activities for the whole family are important, we see tremendous value in supporting and strengthening the bond between individual parents and their child. Our events and activities help the parent and his or her child communicate at an early age in ways that are caring, honest, respectful, and responsible. We seek to encourage you as a parent to get to know your child while your kid is still a kid.

Parent’s Night Out
Let the YMCA give you a special night to yourself! We will entertain your children with a variety of fun-filled activities. each month has a different theme. We even take care of the dinner! All staff are trained in CPR/First Aid and we are well experienced in caring for your children while ensuring a safe environment. Children must be 3-12 years old and potty trained.

A Way To Give Thanks
The Redlands Family YMCA would like to give thanks to our members and community by offering hams and turkeys to our friends and families in need of assistance this holiday season. If you would like to help, please make a donation of any amount at our membership desk between November 1-24. All donations go directly to purchasing these hams and turkeys. The gifts will be distributed on Tuesday, November 25. Let us share joyfully and understand the important of giving while spreading the happiness and comfort to those less fortunate.
47th Annual Holiday Home Tour
A Redlands holiday tradition, the Home Tour, Gift Boutique and Pantry is a product of literally hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, crafters and cooks. A group of homeowners will open their homes for the tour, many dressed and decorated for the holidays.
Visit the Fine Art & Craft Boutique at the Redlands Family YMCA and shop for holiday gifts of original art, handmade jewelry, baked goods, candles, jams/jellies and gift packages created by local artisans. All proceeds go to the YMCA’s Legal Aid program.

TRX Fit Test – This class is designed to track your progress for TRX strength & stamina. Perform a targeted set of TRX exercises for one minute each. Complete as many reps as you can in that time, record it on your Fit sheet & track your progress month to month. This class is offered once a month. All levels are welcome.

Learn, lead, grow. Model UN provides the opportunity to learn, discuss, and debate current international issues, explore world cultures, develop leadership skills, and make lasting friends. MODEL LEGISLATURE & COURT (9th-12th graders)
MLC creates a six month learn-by-doing experience teaching the values of democracy, culminating in a three day state wide assembly with other California teens. MLC provides high school students the opportunity to experience government first-hand while learning how to solve real community problems via democratic processes. Program includes travel to three conferences in November, January, and February. Join MLC today and discover y our leadership potential!

Circus Road Shows
In addition to our big annual show held in May, throughout the season our circus performs smaller shows within the community for special events. Our roadshow troupe has performed at Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, numerous malls and special events. Based on the available space we can design a demonstration of a small number of acts that we offer at the Great Y Circus ranging from a 10 minute show to a 45 minute show.

All classes are 30 minutes in length unless otherwise indicated.
There are no swim lessons Thanksgiving day or Labor Day.
Parent/Child I (ages 6 mos – 3 years) Promotes water enrichment with activities such as kicking, bubbles, splashing, submerging with recovery and jumping in and reaching for the wall. Class is done with parent or other trusted adult. Songs and games are utilized to provide a fun learning environment.
Parent/Child II Flotation Skills (ages 6 mos – 18 mos) Designed to teach flotation skills. Skills include relaxing on the back in various positions, floating on the back as well as rolling over from the stomach to the back. The class is taught in a supportive environment with calming songs to help infants learn important skills.
Parent/Child III Swim Skills (ages 14 mos – 3 years) Intended to teach young children to use flotation skills while swimming. Some of the skills taught include kicking on ones back and rolling over on to the back after voluntary submerging. Class uses a fun and supportive environment to teach basic swimming skills.
Preschool I (Pike / ages 3-5) Designed to help swimmers feel more comfortable and confident in and around the water. Emphasizes water safety, kicking, submerged bubble blowing and floating.
Preschool II (Eel / ages 3-5) Designed for children who can independently place their faces in the water. Emphasis on water safety, freestyle, backstroke and water comfort.
Preschool II (Ray / ages 3-5) Designed for swimmers who are comfortable and confident in the water. Swimmers will practice streamlines, front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke and safety skills.
Preschool III (Starfish / ages 3-5) Designed for swimmers who can successfully swim freestyle and backstroke the width of the pool. Swimmers will learn the kicks for breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers also work on endurance.
YOUTH SWIMMING LESSONS
Youth I (Polliwog / ages 6-12) Designed for participants with little or no previous water experience. Emphasizes floating, water adjustment, kicking, streamlining and safety.
Youth I (Guppy / ages 6-12) Designed for swimmers who have had minimal swimming experience. Focuses on helping students gain more mobility in the water unassisted. A child must be able to float on his/her back and swim 15 feet independently to participate.
Youth II (Minnow) (ages 6-12) Designed to refine basic swimming skills including rotary breathing for front crawl, breaststroke kick and elementary backstroke. Swimmers will work on building endurance.
Youth III (Fish / ages 6-12) Continues to develop freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly skills. Emphasis will be on stroke refinement, building endurance, treading and flip turns.
Youth III (Flying Fish / ages 6-12) Designed for swimmers who have a strong aquatic knowledge and ability in a variety of strokes. Introduction to butterfly, sidestroke, flip turns and rescue skills. Focus is on technique and advanced skills.
Teen & Adult (ages 13+) Designed for participants age 13 and up. Youth and adult levels are arranged according to ability, not age, providing a focus on the skills that are appropriate for their ability.
San Bernardino and Highland combine Pike and Eel to form Preschool I, Polliwog and Guppy to form Youth I and Fish and Flying Fish to form Youth II.
Ages: 14 and up
Class provides participants with the knowledge and skills to respond to heart and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants as well as basic first aid. It is not designed for professional rescuers (firefighters, lifeguards, paramedics, nurses, etc…).

Learn the art of dance and tumbling from our wonderful staff at the Redlands Family YMCA. Our dance program includes predance classes for the preschool age performer, tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, tumbling, and dance acro from our older students. Participants develop grace, rhythm, and body awareness. Participants also build social awareness and esteem from our program. Boys and girls are welcome!

Meets Fridays from 6:00-7:00pm. Students learn basics of soccer with a fun mini game at the end of each class. Emphasis on motor development and fundamental skills.
