The YMCA of the East Valley Child Development Department provides programs for children that offer activities in the following developmental areas: Social-Emotional, Cognitive, Physical, Creative, Language, and Nutrition and Health. We plan all of our curriculum activities with the individual needs of the children in mind. Our programs also stress the core values of character development; Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Responsibility, Respect and Citizenship. Our goal is to partner with families with raising children who are healthy in spirit, mind and body.

We have childcare for preschool and school-age children from 3 years through 5th grade. School-age childcare is located on every Redlands Unified School District campus as well as Baldy Mesa School in the Snowline School District in Phelan. There are two preschools for children three to five years old located in Redlands and at the San Bernardino Family YMCA.

Creative After school Programs for Success (C.A.P.S.)
The San Bernardino YMCA has been a part of this Community Since 1888 serving 119 years. The YMCA continues to reinvent itself to meet the needs of the Community we serve.

Our recent achievement in providing Before and After school Programs at 42 Elementary and 8 middle Schools in collaboration with the San Bernardino City Unified School District. The before School operate 7:00 – 9:00 am and After school Consists of 3:15-6:15 pm. This past year the School District has added that we operate all Parent Teacher Conference days consisting of 1:00 – 6:00 pm. The Middle Schools operate 2:00 – 5:30 pm. The YMCA helps serve over 11,000 students a day, providing structured activities at the local School sites.

The San Bernardino City Unified School District is the 5th largest in the state of California. As a collaboration with the School District as there non-profit organization, we hire & Train all Recreation leaders for the School district consisting of 234 YMCA staff Members and we assist the School District in Training for the Rest of the 5 Counties in our local area consisting of Riverside, Inyo, Kern, Orange, and All San Bernardino County areas.
